Profile swooshes, however, deviate from Bruce Kilgore's original blueprint in favor of a raised jewel swoosh, a branding hit introduced in 1997. The smaller logo indulges in a vibrant “Playful Pink” tone that starkly contrasts the bulk of the sneaker; “AIR” detailing underfoot and non-standard lace dubraes follow suit. Elsewhere, “Nike Air” text on the tongue label, sockliner, and spine get an upside-down update. Together, each aforementioned component further expands the Air Force 1's off-court legacy more than 40 years after its debut.
